Susie Does Do Tech?

If you’re reading this, two things have happened:

  1. I’ve successfully launched my shiny new website

  2. I’ve figured out how to add a blog post to my shiny new website.

Tech does not come easily to me. Anyone who has been around my twitter feed (@susiehats) for the past few months can confirm that there have been many posts documenting Susie’s trials and tribulations with tech, but after winning my place at InCube it became clear that I needed to get over my technophobia and get myself a website.

Fortunately we had a website in a day (WIAD) masterclass as part of our programme and with support from Renfrewshire Council a website for the hats started to become a reality.

In the lead up to the WIAD I obsessed so much over content and layout that I was dreaming about websites.

On the day of WIAD I was largely in a state of overwhelmed confusion BUT thanks to the patience of our trainer, Mary Philip, and the templates she had set up I did manage to get somewhere.

The day after WIAD confusion reigned in my little brain and there were tears, tantrums and many naughty words spoken about stupid websites.

Two days after WIAD I pulled myself together, started using the help that was available and managed to get down to task of creating a website I’d be proud to have for my business.

It’s taken a few weeks longer to get it ready to launch than I expected but it’s as ready to go as it’ll ever be. I hope you like the website as it is now, and we’ll see how it develops.

Thanks to everyone at InCube and Business Gateway (Renfrewshire) for the support, advice and comments as the website was being developed.
